“Cheek-to-cheek + arm-in-arm” Suzy & Park Bo-gum become lovers in “Wonderland”

The chemistry and visual pairing between the main characters Park Bo-gum and Suzy of the movie “Wonderland” are a point of interest for potential audiences.

Set to be released on June 5th, “Wonderland” is a story about reuniting with a departed family member or lover via video call.

Suzy and Park Bo-gum appear as a couple in the movie. Suzy plays Jeong-in, a flight attendant who uses the Wonderland service to see her boyfriend Tae-joo, who is in a coma due to an accident. Park Bo-gum plays Tae-joo, who miraculously wakes up after being unconscious for a long time.

Suzy and Park Bo-gum first met as MCs at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2018. They have co-hosted the event six times, excluding Park Bo-gum’s military service, drawing attention for their stable hosting skills and their perfect visuals, earning the nickname “Baeksang Couple”. “Wonderland” marks their first acting collaboration, raising expectations for their on-screen chemistry.

At the recently held “Wonderland” press conference, Park Bo-gum said, “After meeting Suzy as an MC for the Baeksang Arts Awards, we got to work together in this movie. I thought Suzy fit the character Jeong-in well after reading the script. Our acting chemistry was good, and I remember we depicted the story well.” Suzy added, “Jeong-in and Tae-joo are comfortable lovers, like friends. Since I became close with Park Bo-gum before filming, I think that relationship is well-reflected in the movie.”

Photos released before the movie’s premiere have also become a hot topic due to their visual harmony. The still cuts offer glimpses of Jeong-in and Tae-joo in the film. One can see the in-uniform couple on a date, lovingly cheek-to-cheek or arm-in-arm, looking at each other affectionately, reminiscent of real lovers.

Suzy also posted photos with Park Bo-gum on her Instagram, captioning it “Tae-joo and Jeong-in“, showcasing their chemistry that rivals real couples.
